Jessica Rath, Ph.D., M.P.H., C.H.E.S. is managing director at the Truth Initiative Schroeder Institute® and holds adjunct faculty positions at both the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the University of Maryland School of Public Health. She joined the organization in 2011.
Rath’s academic and professional career has been focused on health issues affecting adolescents and young adults. Rath is a behavioral scientist specializing in the planning, implementation and evaluation of large scale interventions such as clinical trials for tobacco dependence and mass media campaigns for tobacco prevention.
She has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications focused on predictors of health behavior and patterns of tobacco use over time in young people. Rath is the elected treasurer of the American Academy of Health Behavior and is active as an abstract reviewer and editorial board member of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco.
She has her doctorate from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a master’s degree from the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
