Bio

Caitlin Carroll is a content and editorial leader with over 20 years of experience in media and mission-driven communications. As Vice President of Content Strategy and Editorial at Truth Initiative, Carroll oversees the development of multi-platform content that elevates the public education, research, policy, and engagement work of Truth Initiative. 

Her experience across communications, journalism, and nonfiction media has equipped her with the ability to shape compelling narratives and communicate complex issues with clarity and impact. Before joining Truth Initiative in 2016, Carroll worked in communications and editorial roles for leading non-profit organizations and institutions, including at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, George Washington University, and the Nature Conservancy, where she served as managing editor for the organization’s award-winning magazine. Carroll’s experience also includes freelance writing, with work published in the Washington Post, as well as documentary filmmaking. “Painted City,” a documentary she directed and edited, received "Best Documentary Short" at the DC Independent Film Festival and the audience award for "Outstanding Local Film" at the DC Shorts Film Festival.

Carroll graduated from George Washington University and holds a BA in Journalism, MA in Sociology, and certificate in Documentary Filmmaking. She also earned a certificate in Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University. A native Midwesterner, she lives in Washington, D.C., with her family of three and a dog.
