Bio
Angela Pueschell is a former 2016-2017 Truth Initiative Youth Activism Fellow, Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) member and foster youth from Lakeland, Florida.
Pueschell worked at the Florida Department of Health in Polk County for three years focusing on youth advocacy, point-of-sale issues and other policy areas affecting young adults. During this time, Pueschell created an “E-cigarette 101” presentation that has been adapted by SWAT youth since 2016 and presented at two state conferences.
As a Truth Initiative Youth Activism Fellow, Pueschell worked with her local tobacco-free partnership to sponsor a local pride event and engage LGBTQ+ individuals in tobacco control efforts. Her interest in tobacco control comes from the impact she has seen tobacco have on her family and her music community. Angela is an avid rock music fan and would love to see the culture around substance use in rock ‘n roll change. In fall 2019, she will finish her degree in public health at the University of South Florida and continue to pursue a career in health policy and programs.
Pueschell has served on the Truth Initiative board of directors since 2019.
